
The Eastern Michigan University Foundation Board of Trustees has elected new officers for 2007-08. All trustees serve as volunteers:
Daniel Arbour (’77), chair – president and chief executive officer, National Archive Publishing Co.; William Morris (’64, ’68), past chair – president, Monroe County Industrial Develop-ment Corp.; James Greene, member and director of Employment Practice Group, Dykema Gossett; Maureen Thomas (’81), vice chair – legal, risk management and operating consultant, Build-ing Materials Holding Corp.; and Kenneth Bruchanski (’75), treasurer – chief financial officer, CIT Systems Leasing.
Newly elected trustee Brenda Dempsey joined the board at its May meeting. Dempsey graduated from EMU in 1988 with a degree in communications and participated in forensics. She also earned a master’s in communications from Miami (Ohio) University in 1989. She is public relations director for the J.M. Smucker Co., in Orrville, Ohio, and a resident of Fairlawn, Ohio. Dempsey was inducted into the EMU Forensics Hall of Fame and remains active with the team. She serves on the board of directors and executive board of the Home Baking Association, an industry association dedicated to the preservation and encouragement of home baking. Marilyn Opdyke (’81), president of the Opdyke Group, and Larry Warren (’70, ’73), chief executive officer-retired of the Univer-sity of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers, were awarded emeritus status by the board.
