Eastern Michigan University is again offering its alumni and friends affordably priced trips through its popular Alumni Travel Society program. The program is administered by the Office for Alumni Relations through partnerships.
The next trip is April 13-21, 2008, and features the waterways and canals of Holland and Belgium. Participants will cruise the scenic ring of canals in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and admire beautiful arrangements of Dutch tulips and other flowers at the renowned Keukenhof Gardens.
Participants also sail to Kampen, and continue to the stone buildings and cathedral of Deventer. From Arnhem, the journey continues to The Hague, site of the royal residence and the Mauritshuis Museum, and Delft, famous for its blue porcelain.
After rejoining the ship, attendees will cruise past iconic windmills at Kinderdijk and stop in Willemstad. Next, the schedule takes participants along the Zeeland coast from Veere, to learn about the Delta Works’ complex Storm Surge Barriers on Neeltje Jans Island. Finally, guests travel on to Bruges, Belgium, with its Burg Square and cobbled streets, and Antwerp, the diamond capital of the world.
