In the event of severe weather, the decision to remain open or cancel morning classes (those starting before 11:30 a.m.) will be made before 6 a.m., in order to provide sufficient time to notify the media. The decision to remain open or to cancel evening classes (those starting at 5 p.m. or later) will be made before 3:00 p.m. Please see our links for more information on weather related school closings.

Getting Around Campus

• Reduce your wait time by parking in a lot that generally has spaces at the time you arrive to campus
• Parking lots located close to classroom buildings are generally full between the hours of 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday through Thursday.
• Allow sufficient time to find a parking space and walk to your destination.
• Read signs posted at all parking lots
• Report non-working meters to Police Dispatch at 734.487.1222.
• Always keep the EMU parking map in your car.
• Know the parking regulations.
• Certain staff lots are open to commuters at specific times (evenings).
• Park and use the Shuttle!
• Carpool/Rideshare to Eastern!
• Police Dispatch can assist with jumpstarts and lockouts. Jumper cables are available at the McKenny Union Information Center.
• Use SEEUS (734.48-SEEUS), an evening escort service available through the Department of Public Safety when walking to your car at night.
