Job Summary:
Under general supervision, uses specialized knowledge and skills obtained through education, experience or specialized training to create scripts to automate data entry.
Involved in full systems life cycle and is responsible for coding, testing, implementing and training these new scripts. Scripts will help the business save valuable time and
improve quality in data entry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adheres to established information technology standards and procedures
- Analyzes user needs
- Conducts studies to develop new programs improve business processes
- Writes code for new programs
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Concepts of programming such as data structures, error handling, data manipulation and I/O processing
- Structured development methodology
- Relationship between IT and business
- Financial industry business
- Fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a professional office environment
- Basic concepts, principles and practices of an assigned business unit
Skill in:
- Use of Visual Basic
- Use of Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, Visio, Powerpoint, Access) for use in development efforts
- Operating standard office equipment and using, or have the ability to learn, required software applications
Ability to:
- Ask pointed questions to verify clear understanding of client issues
- Organize and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Provide a high level of customer service
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
- Enrollment in school and/or IT-related courses required.
- Training or experience in one or more of the following areas:
Microsoft Office, Outlook, Brokerage Experience, Data Modeling, e-Learning, CRM, PeopleSoft, Analysis and Design, Project Management, ASP.Net, COBOL, HTML, SQL, C#. The specific skills will vary depending on the IT sub-department and/or projects assigned.
- Credit hours in Management Information Systems courses, or courses related to specific assignments, or
- Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
