Description:
For the GA fall/winter position to assist in the HRIS area:

Someone that can assist with development/implementation and maintenance of official EMU HR website and EMU standard web applications and related user-centered services and use of EMU standard templates. Be a resource for technical/design matters. Consult and work directly with internal staff to develop complete, full-service, user-friendly web applications and sites appropriate to the departments within HR. Assist with obtaining information for the departmental pages, establish links to sources or vendor sites. Be able to upload pages to the site and integrate multimedia assets and applications like producing graphics, photos, animation, audio, video and multimedia materials.

Provide assistance in maintaining developing departmental databases and reporting functionality (in and outside of Banner). Help in designing user/customer friendly interfaces to systems, applications, and databases. Understand data structure design, relational database design. All of our reports need to be revamped to insure accurate, quality data is being reported. MSAccess and Crystal Reports currently reporting application tools used.

Help develop user/customer friendly HR forms for online access/completion in a secure environment.

Some of the programming or applications that they would need to have experience/knowledge of could include HTML, Java, ColdFusion, Oracle, PL/SQL, XML, Dreamweaver, Adobe Creative Suite, Flash, HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL (and other relational database structures), and Microsoft SQL Server. We have Dreamweaver and Adobe Creative Suites.

Work with other web staff within division where content of sites may overlap, i.e. HR with payroll or finance pages. Knowing both Macintosh and Windows platforms and understand platform-independent web design is a plus with the web development (although we have no Mac systems in HR).
