How does a student change his/her payroll address?
- Please use your permanent address. If you need to change your address, go to my.emich.edu, click on school services, then administrative services, personal information and then go to update addresses and phones.
What is needed to make a name change?
- A new Social Security card needs to be submitted.

What is the FICA base for 2008?
- 2008 FICA tax base is $102,000.00 paid at the rate of 6.2% with a maximum amount withheld of $6,234.00. The Medicare (Medical Hospital Insurance) FICA tax is based on all earning paid at the rate of 1.45%. There is not limit on the Medicare FICA gross.
How long will it take to have my check direct deposited?
- Once the form reached the Payroll Office, the process takes two to three pays before it is put into effect.
How often do 8233's need to be turned into payroll?
- 8233's must be completed and turned into payroll every year by February 15th.

How many accounts can I have my check direct deposited into?
- You may only direct deposited into one bank account. However if you have an account at the EMU Credit Union, you can have a payroll deduction set up and have money deposited into that account.
