Scholarships

2024-2025 Scholarship Application is now available.  The due date is Friday, February 23, 2024.

Instructions

  • View the available scholarships [PDF] and choose which ones you'd like to apply for.
  • Download the scholarship application [PDF] and fill it out completely. Please make sure that any scholarship you would like to be considered for is listed on your application.
  • Prepare a resume for submission with the application.
  • Prepare an essay for submission with the application.
  • Some scholarships may require a personal statement, references, letters of recommendation, etc. Be sure these are included in your packet.
  • After gathering all your materials, you may deliver them in person to Sill 207 or via email. Please note: Incomplete applications will not be considered.

The Process

  • Once the application packet is received and checked for accuracy by the Dean's office, it will be forwarded for review.
  • Award recipients will be notified in April 2024.
  • The names and applications of individuals selected to receive awards will be forwarded to the Office of Financial Aid for final verification and transfer of funds to the student's EMU account in July 2024.
  • Ryan Fox Scholarship

    Awarded to a junior or senior student with a minimum 2.8 GPA.
  • Ervin Industries Scholarship

    Awarded to students (entering college for the first time or transfer students) who intend to major with a degree from the School of Engineering; a cumulative 2.5 GPA required; must be enrolled as a part-time student (6 credit hour minimum).
  • Thomas E. Stevens Scholarship

    Awarded to sophomores, junior, and seniors with a declared major in Mechanical Engineering Technology, minimum 3.0 GPA.  Preference given to student that brings creativity to their academic activities and illustrates a cooperative spirt in teamwork activities.  Must submit a personal statement that articulates their interest in MET and why they should receive the award.
  • SET Faculty and Alumni Scholarship

    Awarded one scholarship per year for fall only. Both undergraduate and graduate students with a major in the School of Engineering Technology can apply; preference given to junior and senior students; UG GPA 3.0 and graduate GPA 3.2 required; must provide two recommendation letters, must demonstrate professional promise and entrepreneurial ambition; must submit a personal statement on goals and future ambition in the industry.
  • Max Kanagy Scholarship

    Awarded to undergraduate and graduate students in related SET program; one scholarship per year fall term only. Preference given to UG juniors and seniors with a 3.0 GPA and 3.5 for graduates. Must provide letter of recommendation from past or current employer(s); must demonstrate professional promise and entrepreneurial ambition; must submit a personal statement about goals.
  • Carolyn Marr Thomson Memorial Scholarship

    Awarded to Computer-Aided Manufacturing/Product Design and Development majors with a cumulative 3.0 GPA; preference given to female applicants. Industrial Technology students majoring in other areas and meet other requirements may receive an award.
  • Donald J. Purdie, Sr. and Family Scholarship

    Awarded to an undergraduate student major in Engineering, demonstrates professional promise, with preference given to student completing their final year of the program in need of assistance to complete degree.
  • Valspar Scholarship

    Awarded to a student majoring in polymers and coatings with a minimum 3.0 GPA and must be enrolled in the GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology.
  • Polymers and Coating Scholarship

    Awarded to a student majoring in polymers and coatings with a minimum 3.5 GPA for a graduate student and must be enrolled in the GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology.
  • John C. Graham Memorial Scholarship

    Awarded to polymers and coatings majors (all academic levels will be considered) who have a 3.0 GPA or above.
  • Charles H. Parker & John A. Gordon Memorial Scholarship

    Awarded to students in the polymers and coatings curriculum. Selection made at the discretion of the department head or program coordinator.
  • Chang-Pei Kuo Scholarship

    Awarded to graduate student in the Polymers & Coatings curriculum with a minimum 3.5 GPA.
