Worked as chartered architect and senior project manager through the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, and still continues in collaboration with DIA-Ebenezer international for sustainable architecture and building projects. Involved in the design and delivery of hundreds of built projects – residential, industrial, recreational, institutional, commercial, etc. across continents in Africa, Australia, and North America.

Currently works on Bendors Power System (BPS) for renewable generation, storage, and supply of electrical energy (http://www.emich.edu/techtransfer/applied/bendors-air-power-system.php), and Space Design Efficiency Computing (SpaceDEC) – a computer application that assesses architectural facilities space planning and design for efficiency and effectiveness attainments, and can be consulted while spaces are being designed, or used by owners and facility managers to analyze, compare and choose or revise space design options.

BPS is a ground-breaking, gaming-changing system. With BPS, appropriately compressed air is stored and released at a controlled pressure and velocity to drive a specially built combination of fans and alternators to synergistically generate electrical power literally continuously. This concept will constitute about the most renewable energy and power generation system ever known to man that can overcome most shortcomings and prohibitive first and maintenance costs of other systems such as micro-hydro power, solar, wind turbine, geothermal power plants (hot rock geothermal) and other renewable and non-renewable energy systems. With BPS, location and climatic conditions will no longer be a factor in electricity generation or siting of generation points. There will be no more need for batteries or similar maintenance-prone storage systems, no more hefty dams, no more need for topography-challenging penstocks, no more need for polluting energy sources such as coal and oil, no more need for falling water and damming of rivers, no more threatening of aquatic habitat and life, no more need for nuclear sources for power generation, no more compressing of liquefied natural gas, no more waiting for tidal waves to come, no more waiting for fossil fuels or gases to form over millions of years, no more robbing plant resources and/or food sources to produce biomass and ethanol for fuel! Transmission grids and such expensive distribution means will become irrelevant or unnecessary just as what happened to telegraph poles with the advent of modern communication technology. BPS provides customizable simple solutions that will be game-changing and ground-breaking in their simplicity and applicability to a variety of users and uses in developed, developing, and underdeveloped nations. BPS can be sized to various load needs. Development will continue on the application of the BPS technology to all driven, ridden, sailing (boats, ships, submarines, etc.), and flying vehicles, automobiles, equipment and motors, power tools such as nail guns, regular guns, gymnastic equipment, medical equipment, all powered industrial and manufacturing systems, domestic equipment, water pumping, power wheelchairs, lawn mowers, tractors, etc.

SpaceDEC (Space Design Efficiency Computing) is a computer application that assesses architectural facilities space planning and design for efficiency and effectiveness attainments.   • Bendors Air Power System for Renewable Generation, Storage, and Distribution of Electrical Energy (my game-changing invention) _ a $5 million proposal submitted on June 1, 2012 to United States Agency for International Development (USAID) – Development Innovation Ventures (DIV). Partners include Thin Red Line Aerospace Ltd. (developers of performance predictable, high shell load, mass optimized inflatable architecture, including Bigelow Genesis inflatable spacecraft pressure shells, NASA and Boeing lunar habitation architecture, planetary entry decelerators, and deep-sea energy storage), Professor Fang Zheng Peng (a renowned inventor with 10 patents), and Professor Jeffrey L. Recent Student Achievements:
  • In fall 2014, his then Ph.D. student, David Kelly, was recognized by the Project Management Institute and the PMI-Educational Foundation. His paper titled “Overdesign and Over-specification in Building Construction” won the 2014 PMI Donald S. Barrie award for the best paper on construction project management.
  • His students (Joe Kennan, Tim Cunningham, Emily Adams, & Tom Shanley) were among the student competition team that placed second for Region 3 (extending from Kentucky to Wisconsin) of the Associated Schools of Construction in the Commercial Division of October 2009.
