Professional Memberships and Affiliations

Dr. Tartalone is the Chair of the planning committee for the Great Lakes International Aviation Conference (GLIAC). He is instrumental in its development and implementation, and is the initial contact with leaders in the aviation industry who participate in the annual event. The GLIAC is a regional conference that serves commercial and recreational pilots, aircraft maintenance technicians, and all aviation enthusiasts—visit:

Additional Information

Dr. Tartalone joined the faculty at Eastern Michigan University in the fall of 2005 as the Program Coordinator for Aviation Management.  His diverse teaching experiences range from kindergarten through the university and adult levels. Dr. Tartalone is also a professional pilot, aircraft owner, and a single- and multi-engine flight instructor.

Before coming to EMU, Dr. Tartalone was an Aviation Safety and Education Specialist with the Michigan Department of Transportation, Bureau of Aeronautics. His position as an airport safety inspector and aircraft pilot gave him the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the state, working closely with airport managers and other aviation professionals.
