Short Bio:

Dr. Ahmed recently joined Eastern Michigan University in the Fall of 2008. Before joining Eastern, he worked for Wayne State University as a research associate for nine years. Dr. Ahmed completed his Ph.D from Wayne State in industrial engineering.

Dr. Ahmed also holds BE (Mechanical), MS (Mechanical) and MS (Manufacturing) degrees. He has 20 years of teaching experience and has taught courses in engineering management, business information system and mechanical, manufacturing, and industrial engineering. Since 1998, he has been working on online learning management systems and has worked on all major LMS.

Dr. Ahmed was the Co-PI in three major NIST's APT grants to Wayne State University from 1995 – 2002 and has served as the subject matter expert for NSF Greenfield Coalition, from 2002 – 2007. He has worked with GM, Chrysler and Ford Motor Company as a consultant in development of new product design and process improvement and knowledge management. On a personal note, Dr. Ahmed likes to play cricket and loves to produce short movies.
