Short Bio:

Steve comes to EMU with 10 years of professional experience in the fields of Interior Design and Architecture. He values the cross-disciplinary approach to design seeking to integrate multiple disciplines early in the design process. With experience in master planning, site design, architectural design, and interior design, he works to unify projects from beginning to end by creating and preserving design integrity. His project experience as an interior designer, job captain, and field architect includes museums, single family high-end residential, retail, university projects, workplace design, exhibit design, millwork design, and adaptive reuse among others. All of this experience supports the teaching of his students as he seeks to make the academic studio just as "real world" as the professional studio. He also seeks to integrate sustainable design and construction practices into each student project design experience. In addition, he is a LEED-AP and NCIDQ certificate holder. Steve received his Master of Architecture, B.S. of Architecture, and B.S. of Interior Architecture degrees from Lawrence Technological University. He is very excited to be playing a role alongside the fine faculty members of the Interior Design Program, and the School of Engineering Technology as a whole, as we seek to educate the next generation of leadership in the profession of Interior Design.
