Short Bio:Cathryn Amidei received her MFA from Eastern Michigan University in Textiles.
|
|
Areas of Expertise:She has extensive training and expertise in Jacquard woven fabrics, and has exhibited her woven artwork both nationally and internationally. She has taught and trained students in jacquard weaving at both Eastern and at the Jacquard Center in North Carolina. She works closely with the inventor of the TC-1, a Jacquard loom that is located in the Fiber program at Eastern and has and will teach courses related to jacquard textiles and design. Cathryn is also the founder of the Y Collective - an experimental design incubator located in the ATM program. The Collective consists of both current students and alumni. Their work has been exhibited in the annual runway show, national juried art competitions and internationally as well.
