Who We Are We are Michigan’s newest product development and innovation
center. The Center for Product Research and Development (CPRD)
is dedicated to helping manufacturing and construction businesses
grow. Founded in 2002, the CPRD assists innovators to develop concepts
into products. The professional services, prototyping, manufacturing
facilities and entrepreneurial ideas can add to success in the highly
competitive marketplace. The Center for Product Research and Development (CPRD) is part of Eastern Michigan University’s (EMU) College of Technology. Consistent with the high quality of service and innovation that are a tradition at EMU, the CPRD helps manufacturing businesses grow. |
Structure analysis is conducted using finite element analysis software in the computer aided design (CAD) lab.
Mission
The mission of the Center for Product Research and Development (CPRD) is to provide a vital link between University activities and manufacturing and construction industries through applied research and education.The CPRD supports the University mission through service initiatives and public and private partnerships of mutual interests addressing local, regional, national and international opportunities and challenges. Efforts of the Center reach beyond the traditional technology transfer role to include participation in fulfilling the University strategic initiative of facilitating economic development in the state and service region.
Through collaboration with the Michigan Small Business Development Center, the Center for Product Research and Development can assist companies and inventors in the development of a product as well as the assistance to establish a business and bring the product to market.
