The Center for Research on the Internet and Schools (CRIS) was created in 2005 as a focus for collaborative research at Eastern Michigan University on schools and technology. Current projects include studies of digital libraries and K-12 education, technology integration in teacher preparation, technology in the math and science curriculum, and policy studies on the school technologies.
What's Happening at CRIS
Lesson Study eNetwork Teachers from across the state participated in a Conference on Lesson Study in math education. The conference was held June 24-25 at the Wayne County RESA. Conference resources and links provide more information. As a result, we have started the Michigan Lesson Study eNetwork to continue the work started at the conference and provide a forum for sharing, expertise, and resources. Join us! On June 23 and June 24, 2006, we held a new Lesson Study Conference for those already familiar with lesson study.

DLConnect Workshops The CRIS digital library workshops are being implemented under a National Science Foundation Grant to develop professional development models for "training the trainer" to help teachers using the National Science Digital Library. The first of the workshops was held in conjunction with MAME at the Washtenaw Intermediate School District. A second was held in partnership with Southfield Public Schools on July 20-21, 2005. Watch for new workshops that you can join for free. |
Check out the Events and Resources pages for reports and other materials that will be useful for educators, researchers, and policy makers.
