Coaching Science Olympiad (not just for teachers)

This special CSIE seminar trains EMU students to become effective Science Olympiad Coaches. Students apply what they have learned in core disciplinary and instructional methods coursework to assist area teams.

Participants must have an interest in working with middle and high school age students after school. Model-building skills are helpful, but the ability to apply creative approaches to problem solving is critical.

Department permission is required to enroll in this 1 credit CSIE 277: Coaching Science Olympiad (CRN 17367).

This is a “Part-term” course—classes meet for the last 7½ weeks of fall term. The first session is Wednesday, October 24, 2007 from 3:00pm-4:50pm. Subsequent meetings will be scheduled at a later date.
