Dear Physics Students:

Some of you may have heard this before, but let me give a plug for CSIE 377:  Modeling Concrete Mechanical Systems (1 credit, Fridays 1-1:50 PM).  Anyone who is taking PHY 330 is eligible to take this course (you do NOT need to be in MATH 325 also).  Why take this class?

  • You will learn how to use Excel to solve simple variable force problems.  This will reinforce some of the material in PHY 330.

  • You will get an introduction to MATLAB, a software package that is commonly used in industry and has nice research applications, too.

  • You will get your free textbooks for CSIE 377 and PHY 330, courtesy of the grant which is funding this program.  (Of course, if you take MATH 325, you would get that textbook free, too.)

Questions?  Stop by, give me a call, or drop me an e-mail.
