Any number of CTA graduates have hit the national spotlight - here is a sampling of some recent standouts!
Rodney Slater - Mr. Slater is a 1977 graduate of Eastern Michigan University who went on to become Secretary of Transportation in the Clinton Administration. He is currently a partner in the law firm of Patton Boggs LLP. For a biographical sketch of Mr. Slater, go here
Dennis Cockrum - also a 1977 graduate of EMU's Theatre program, Cockrum was a 2004 recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award. Mr. Cockrum has achieved the rare status of being a working professional actor for over two decades. His films include "Uncle Buck" and "Desperate Measures." His most recent television work has been in "Becker" and a recurring role in the award-winning series, "The West Wing."
Natasha Collins - Ms. Collins is a 1998 graduate of the Telecommunications and Film program and has most recently been hired as a general assignment reporter at Channel 32 in Louisville, KY. You can visit her web page

James Bolosh (’91), of New York, N.Y., is vice president of programming at HGTV (Home and Garden Television) and the creative force behind the network’s top 10 shows, including “Designed to Sell,” “Cash in the Attic,” “House Hunters” and “Weekend Warriors.” He also has produced series for Country Music Television and VH1, working with such celebrities as Britney Spears, Celine Dion, Shania Twain and Madonna. He is a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and has been a Grammy Voting Member since 1996. He is also a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Crystal Nevada Thornton (’89), of Kernersville, N.C., has served as primary news anchor for numerous television stations from coast to coast. She was nominated for an Emmy in 2001 and 2002 for producing and hosting “DFW Close Up,” a community affairs program at KDAF-TV in Dallas, Texas. Thornton is host of “The Master’s Music,” a television show on Totally Christian Television that airs in 170 nations. A talented singer, Thornton recently released her first solo recording, entitled: Crystal Thornton “A Little Lower than Angels.”
