| Biography:
|
Teaching at Eastern Michigan University since 1987. Teaching in higher education since 1975. Professional experience in local television production as a producer, director, writer and technician; in radio news as a reporter/ announcer; in newspapers as a reporter, sports editor and photographer.
Service activities include serving as Electronic Media and Fil Studies area head, student advisor and sponsoring students in the EMU Undergraduate Symposium.

| Research interests focus on societal broadcast and media effects and media literacy as a tool to empower audiences to disarm mediated messages. Have presented papers at the Broadcast Education Association and the Popular Culture Association conferences. |
