Biography:
Jessica Elton will complete her PhD at Purdue University in the fall of 2009. Her research interests focus on health communication, specifically women’s health issues, health communication in public health organizations, and crisis communication. Elton received her BA from the University of Nevada, Reno where as an undergraduate, she studied creative writing and literature and spent a year and a half studying abroad in Devon, England. For her Master’s degree she went to University of Denver where she studied intercultural communication. Elton joins Eastern Michigan University and the Department of Communication, Media & Theatre Arts as an assistant professor of communication where she will have the opportunity to develop courses and curriculum in the growing field of health communication.
