As the chief officer of this division, I have the responsibility to create and sustain a dynamic learning community by providing leadership, programs, services and initiatives that support students in the pursuit of their educational goals. Our programs and services serve a wide variety of students who choose EMU for any number of reasons: degree seeking, career change opportunity, self-improvement, re-tooling of skills and more. To that end we manage our operations in such a way as to ensure that they are meeting the requirements of a diverse student population.
The Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management is committed to offering programs, services and other opportunities which provide a student-focused learning environment that positively affects your life and reduces the barriers you may face as you work to achieve your educational goals. Our Guiding Principles
Collaboration
The Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management wants to be
recognized as a significant partner in the preparation of our students. To that
end, the Division will expand existing partnerships and develop services and
programs that offer the opportunity to form additional, mutually-beneficial partnerships
with other campus and community entities.
Diversity and Inclusion
The Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management will develop
services and programs that will foster a campus community that respects diversity
and inclusion while maintaining a respect for individual differences.
Fiscal Responsibility
The Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management will operate
with sound fiscal policies. Both our existing and any new programs and services
should be designed to enhance our financial resources through reallocation of
existing resources, elimination of duplicative efforts, creative generation of
new resources, and reduction of costs in current programs and services.
Innovation
The Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management will encourage
and support departmental initiatives that use new ideas, methods or techniques
designed to improve our delivery of services and programs to our various university
constituents.
Technology Based Approaches to Services
The Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management will identify
and incorporate existing and emerging technology in order to provide quality
services, programs and information to faculty, staff, and students.
