Resources

The Department of Economics offers a variety of resources to help you make the most of your experience at EMU.  The department provides advising for both undergraduate and graduate students. If you need help with your studies, consider our tutoring service.

You should also know about all the specialized scholarships and graduate assistantships for Economics students. Make sure to explore the range of student organizations and events to get to know your fellow students. Visit the computer lab to use necessary software.

University Resources

Eastern Michigan University provides a wealth of student resources.  Additionally, there are discounts with local businesses by showing the EMU ID card through the Eagle Discount Card Program

Honors College

The Honors College offers both educational and cultural experiences for EMU's intellectually talented and motivated students by providing challenging Honors courses and extra-curricular activities that encourage scholarly curiosity, leadership, civic engagement, and diversity. The Department of Economics regularly offers honors sections of Principles of Microeconomics and Principles of Macroeconomics. Faculty members are also available for Honors thesis and honors contracts. For more information, contact the Honors College.

McNair Scholars Program

The purpose of the McNair Program is to assist students in completing their Bachelor's degree and gain admission to Master's / Doctoral programs. 

Francine Parker Advising Center

The Francine Parker Advising Center is a dedicated center to help students in the College of Arts and Sciences, including Economics. Consider scheduling a meeting with one of their knowledgeable advisors to discuss your path to completing your degree. 

Career Development

The University Advising and Career Development (UACDC) is a one-stop shop for many critical student services, such as academic advising, learning about different careers, preparing for a professional career, and finding a job (on or off campus).

Holman Success Center

The Holman Success Center offers a variety of programs and services to support student success, such as study tables, success coaching, tutoring, and supplemental instruction (SI).

International Student Resources

The Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) is a one-stop shop for international admissions, advising, activities, assistance, and employment requirements. International students should direct their questions regarding visas, temporary employment permits, travel outside of the U.S., etc., during their studies to OISS.

Library

The EMU Library offers research support to undergraduate, graduate, international, and post-baccalaureate students and faculty in the form of one-on-one consulting, online support, and class-specific workshops.

Writing Center

The University Writing Center (UWC) offers writing support to undergraduate, graduate, international and post-baccalaureate students and faculty in the form of one-on-one consulting, online support, workshops, and targeted workshops.  They have several satellite locations across campus.
