Jeromy Hopgood brings to Eastern Michigan an eclectic background
in
entertainment design from venues across the country. He holds
an MFA in
scenic and lighting design from the University of Arkansas and
a BA in
technical theatre from Arkansas Tech University. Before coming
to EMU,
he taught at Appalachian State University in North Carolina and
the
University of Kentucky. Jeromy has designed professionally, both
as a
scenic and lighting designer, for over a decade. He worked at
the
Williamstown Theatre Festival in its Tony-award-winning season,
where he
designed scenery and served as an assistant-designer to many
Broadway
designers. Jeromy is excited to be planning the entertainment
design
program and hopes to craft his classroom instruction around the
practical needs for today's young designer/technician.
