Biography
As a member of Actors Equity Association, the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists John has accumulated an extensive professional stage and film resume. He directed the EMU productions of Hotel Paradiso & Noises Off and appeared as an Equity guest artist in the 2005 EMU production of Twelfth Night. John is an associate artist with both The Purple Rose Theatre in Chelsea and Ann Arbor’s Performance Network , where he staged Doubt (Wilde Award-Best Drama 2008). John directed the west coast premiere of Ken Ludwig’s Leading Ladies for North Coast Rep in San Diego and the New York premiere of Steven Dietz’s More Fun Than Bowling. In the spring of 2009, John directed the world premiere of Flyover USA, an original Michigan work, for Williamston Theatre which was named Best New Play by the Lansing State Journal. As a performer, John’s been recognized with a number of nominations and awards from Michigan journalists, including The Detroit Free Press, The Ann Arbor News, The Oakland Press and Between The Lines. John has appeared in several world premieres of new plays by Purple Rose founder, Jeff Daniels and has supporting roles in the feature films Super Sucker and Kill The Irishman.
