Join us on Saturday, March 10, 2007, for the annual "Extending Conversations" EMU Department of English Language and Literature conference, featuring panel presentations from EMU faculty, graduate students, and area secondary and elementary school teachers.

Our keynote speaker this year is Daniel Anderson, a professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and author of the textbooks Writing About Literature in the Media Age and Beyond Words: Reading and Writing in a Visual Age.The theme of this year's conference is "Multimedia in the K-16 Classroom." Topics of presentations will include:

  • Illustrated Texts in the Classroom

  • Low Tech/ No Tech Multimedia

  • Wikipedia and Internet Research

  • Literature and Film

  • Journalism and Technology
