Many students attending the MA program receive support in the form of Teaching , Research, and Graduate Assistantships. To be considered for an assistantship please make sure to submit the application for assistantship with your graduate school applications.

The Creative Writing program appoints one student to a two-year assistantship to serve as editor of Bathhouse and awards several to students based on merit.

In addition the program awards annually the winner of the Jumpmettle Award ($1,000) for best graduate student fiction and the Graduate School Award in Creative Writing ($1,000). For more on these awards see the Students - Awards section.
