To graduate with a major in Creative Writing at EMU, a student must complete all coursework as stipulated in the Creative Writing Major Advisee Checklist. Meet with an advisor early and often to make sure you are on track. In addition to the coursework, students must complete the Creative Writing Capstone Project under the guidance of a faculty advisor.
As a student enters the final semester, the following should be completed to insure graduation:
___ Meet with your advisor to go over the Creative Writing Major Advisee Checklist
___ Complete the Capstone Project Contract in consultation with your faculty advisor
___ Apply for graduation through the registrar's office (Deadlines are usually within the first two weeks of the semester)
All graduating majors in creative writing are required to participate in a public performance/presentation of their work at the semesterly Creative Writing Capstone Readings.
