Abby Coykendall specializes in eighteenth-century literature, as well as in the novel, narrative theory, and literary criticism. Along with teaching classes regularly in these areas, she has offered special topics courses on globalization, the gothic novel, and the literatures of cruelty. She is currently working on two book projects: The Femme Fatale and Empires at Sea and Gothic Empiricism. Her JNT article, “Bodies Cinematic, Bodies Politic,” won the Florence Howe award for outstanding feminist scholarship in 2000. |
