Biography:
Nancy has been a member of the Department of English Language and Literature for over ten years, beginning as an instructor in 1991. Now a professor, she teaches in the areas of rhetoric and technical/ professional writing, offering such diverse courses as The Rhetoric of Science and Technology, and Research, Theory, and Practice in Writing.

Nancy's contributions to the Eastern Michigan University community are many and varied. She served on the College of Arts and Sciences Advisory Council 1996-1998, chaired the Department Personnel Committee from 1997-1999, served as Coordinator of Writing Programs 2003-2005, and is currently an advisor for the University Honors Program.

She is equally active within the teaching and technical professions. She served on both the executive board and ethics committee of the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing (ATTW) and on the executive board of the Conference for Programs in Scientific and Technical Communication (CPTSC). She twice served as program chair for the CPTSC Conference. In addition, she is a reviewer for the Journal of Business and Technical Communication and is a member of the editorial advisory board for Computers and Composition: An International Journal for Teachers of Writing.
