Interests and Expertise

I joined EMU’s Department of English Language and Literature in 2013 as a graduate assistant in both the First Year Writing Program and Children's Literature. My research interests include representations of girlhood in children's and young adult literature and the commodification of girlhood education within the United States.

I am currently writing my Master's Thesis on the evolution of female puberty education and the commodification and education of girlhood through puberty self-help guides for girls.
