PRSSA and PRSA
The Public Relations Student Society of America is a professional student organization that introduces students in public relations, journalism, marketing, communications, English, etc. to the professional world by interacting with professionals and other students working within the field. More importantly, PRSSA provides an opportunity for budding professionals to network with members of our parent organization, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). The local PRSA-Detroit chapter is the 4th largest nationwide. The mission of the Eleanor Wright Chapter, Eastern Michigan University's PRSSA chapter, is to enhance our members' knowledge of public relations/journalism/ media/etc. in order to provide the public relations and related fields, local and abroad, with the most qualified, well informed and honorable professionals. Since its founding in 1997, PRSSA members have offered services to the local Ypsilanti community, as well as metro Detroit and Ann Arbor. Our members are hard workers who are involved in promoting campus activities, the campus newspaper and working within PR-related fields via internships.
