Welcome to EMU Graduate Studies in English! We have five MA programs that engage students and prepare them for successful careers and/or doctoral degrees.

Our students are professionally active, with an exceptional record of presenting research at major refereed national conferences, winning prestigious awards and fellowships, and achieving success in leading Ph.D. programs. Students who do not opt for doctoral study pursue teaching and other field-related professional careers. Students in our MA programs have obtained teaching positions at many institutions in Michigan and other states.

Faculty in the department are recognized for their research and award-winning teaching. Our faculty have published books, presented papers at numerous national conferences, and won both research and teaching awards, including EMU Distinguished Faculty Awards in all of the teaching and research categories.
