University Writing Center Targeted WI Course Support

If you are a faculty member interested in working with the UWC to provide targeted support for your WI course, please notify Dr. Rebecca Sipe, Acting Director, at rsipe@emich.edu. Support will be provided as resources allow.

UWC consultants seek to provide support across a program's WI courses, rather than for individual teachers or sections. To begin conversation with your faculty, UWC consultants will need the following information:

• What are the qualities of good writing across your WI courses (and discipline)?
• In what WI course assignments are these qualities developed, and how does this development progress through the term?
• How do these assignments reflect uses of writing within your field or profession? (e.g., lab reports are used to document experiments, including methods and findings)
• Dividing the semester up into roughly three sections (beginning, middle, and end), what are the 1-3 most important of these qualities that you work on in each section?

Please include these responses in your e-mail requesting support. The UWC will be in touch with you as soon as possible.
