The University Writing Center (UWC) is a free resource offering small group workshops supporting writing, reading, research and analysis. Workshops are linked to high-volume writing and writing intensive courses and are open to all EMU students, regardless of course enrollment. All workshops last one hour.

Most UWC workshops are held in 209 Pray-Harrold. Library research workshops are held in Halle Library. Check the schedule for workshop location.

Beginning in Winter 2009, the University Writing Center will also partner with the Eastern Michigan Writing Project Family Literacy Initiative to offer a new workshop, "How to Help Your Teen Prepare for College Writing." More information coming soon!

Workshop Locations
Unless otherwise indicated, workshops are held in the University Writing Center, 209 Pray-Harrold. The UWC is located just inside the east door of Pray-Harrold.

Please note: Jumpstarting Your Research Process, Evaluating Internet Sources, and Using Library Resources workshops are held in G07B or G07C Halle Library. See calendar for specific rooms. Both are in the basement of Halle Library.

One-to-one consulting on writing, research, and technology issues is available at the Academic Projects Center (104 Halle Library, 487-0020x2154). The APC is open 11-5 Monday-Thursday during the fall and winter semesters.
