Concentration

Environmental Science Concentrations

The environmental science concentrations offer students many opportunities to increase their understanding of biodiversity and ecosystem functioning, climate variability, hydrologic forecasting, land-use dynamics, environmental chemistry and geochemistry, and biogeochemical cycles.

Many graduates with environmental science concentrations work as environmental consultants, environmental health and safety officers, environmental regulatory compliance officers, environmental technicians, hydrologists, resource managers, restoration ecologists, water quality chemists, and wildlife biologists, or wildlife refuge specialist.

Environment and Society Concentration

The Environment and Society concentration provides students with opportunities to discuss ethical values and principles for framing laws, policies, and economic approaches to address environmental issues.

Many graduates with the Environment and Society concentration work as environmental or wildlife advocates, environmental educators, environmental lobbyists, or park rangers.
