Michigan Department of Civil Rights
A significant study produced by the MDCR, supported by a grant from the Tides Foundation. Extensive research on discrimination in housing, the workplaces, public services, education, and law enforcement indicates that anti-gay discrimination is having a negative impact on the Michigan economy.

The Effect of Negative School Climate on Academic Outcomes for LGBT Youth and the Role of In-School Supports
Kosciw, Palmer, Kull & Greytak - Journal of School Violence
The study finds that hostile school climate has serious ramifications for LGBT students. Institutional supports, such as GSAs, safe schools practices, and supportive staff were shown to have potential to offset those effects.
