Eastern Michigan University
Equality Fellows and Community Engagement Program
The Center for the Study of Equality and
Human Rights announces our Equality Fellows and Community Engagement program focused on
the design and development of community based LGBT Equality and Human Rights research.
Five Eastern Michigan University
faculty members will be selected to participate in the Winter 2014
Faculty Fellows and Community Engagement Program. Faculty members will be paired with community organizations to conduct applied, community based research.
Equality Fellows will participate in a semester-long seminar,
once per week, following a structured curriculum focused on
considerations for conducting research with LGBT populations; working with community organizations, advocacy groups, and schools; and, bringing academic expertise to the lives and needs of communities in Southeastern Michigan.
Equality Fellows will receive a one course release for the semester
in which they are selected for participation as well as research support in their work with community partners.
