E-TV has a tradition of providing educational, entertainment and student-focused programming dating back to the fall of 1993, when it debuted on Eastern Michigan University Campus Cable Channel 11. An extension of University Marketing and Communications, its signal is carried to all cable outlets on Eastern’s main campus, including throughout the EMU residence hall system.
Opportunities for student involvement have always been a strong component of E-TV’s mission. The E-TV Game Of The Week, a lineup mainstay since the station’s inception, has provided hands-on TV production opportunities for countless EMU students. These volunteers come primarily from the Electronic Media and Film Studies program of EMU’s Department of Communication and Theatre Arts.
Through the years the station has hosted several student-produced shows ranging from campus magazines to sports talk to the current Studio E.
Studio E features varied talent segments produced by EMU students for a credit class.
E-TV is part of the on-campus Eagle Network, along with EnfoChannel and WQBR.
