Summer Camps at EMU
Knowledge and Adventure Await
Encourage your kids to step out and explore a new interest or potential career in a fun and relaxed environment at Eastern Michigan University. EMU faculty, staff and students will be on hand to ignite imaginations and open up a variety of topics from intellectual pursuits to athletic achievement. Available camps will be listed below as they are open for registration.
June 19–August 18
Fun Camp is a summer-long day camp for children ages seven (or entering second grade in the fall) through 12. They will enjoy a variety of activities including a free swimming lesson each week and open swim every afternoon.
May through August
EMU Athletics offers camps in many sports for students throughout the summer. Check their website for the current list of offerings.
June 19–August 17
EMU partnered with the local YMCA to offer this half-day camp for children ages 8–16. The camp focuses on sports, arts and academics. Sign your student up for one session or several throughout the summer.
June 19–August 25
EMU's Children's Institute hosts this summer camp program. It's a theme-oriented, play-based program for children moving into kindergarten and bridging into first grade.
July 10–14 or July 17–21
Inkstains is for middle school (July 10–14) and high school (July 17–21) students who want to learn more about writing. Published authors lecture as students learn good techniques through writing in several genres.
This camp is specifically for female students interested in learning more about careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Currently, our summer camp program is for high school students only and admission is highly competitive.
