This intensive, 10-day workshop challenges overly simplistic ideas about the demise of physical books by stressing the ways novel renditions of physical, digital and hybrid "books" carry meaning. Explore unconventional forms books may take and create an artwork/designed object challenging ideas of what books can be. Instructors will facilitate discussions and you'll be asked to contribute your knowledge and skill sets. Contribute to the topic through presentations of your ideas and your creative work or research. Basic art materials are provided as part of the workshop. Other materials can be purchased at art supply stores in nearby Traverse City.
