EMU seeks a scholar/artist to spend winter at the Parsons Center. The scholar/artist-in-residence lives in the main house from January—April. The main house is approximately 1400 sq ft, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, fully functional kitchen, washer and dryer, garage and forced air heat and wood for the fireplace.
The scholar/artist's role is to complete a project relevant to the interdisciplinary mission of the facility. Projects can include, but are not limited to, research, GIS mapping, manuscripts for publication, artistic productions or curricular development. A public presentation of the project or other means of public engagement is expected. This unique experience allows the scholar/artist to explore new dimensions in their discipline in a serene and remote environment.
All applicants must submit a vitae, the names of three references and a letter of interest outlining the scope of the project they propose to do while in residence. Applications are due by October 15 for consideration for residency the following Winter. Send materials to:
