Professional Learning that Works:
Collaborative Inquiry

August 16 | (6 SCECHs) | Amy Colton, Ph.D. and Kay Cornell

During this one-day session, you’ll examine the characteristics of effective collaborative inquiry and discuss the steps, the challenges and the benefits of collaborative inquiry. After learning what collaborative inquiry is and why it's effective, you’ll leave with tools to implement collaborative inquiry in their schools and districts.

EMWP Summer Institute: Initiatives in Writing

May–July | William Tucker, Ph.D.

An intensive, 2.5-week session designed for teachers (K-college) concerned with the teaching of writing in any subject area. We will:

  • Write, as well as respond to other's writing.
  • Read and talk about current research in the teaching of writing.
  • Develop research questions about teaching writing in our own contexts.
