Peggy Liggit is Director (I) of the Bruce K. Nelson Faculty Development Center. She earned her PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology (Univ. of Nevada-Reno, 1994) and her undergraduate degree in Biology with certifications in secondary biology and chemistry education (Northern Arizona Univ., 1982.) Peggy has been on EMU's campus for fourteen years, serving two years as Director of Academic Assessment and twelve years as professor in the Department of Biology teaching and conducting research in science education. Her research focus now includes learner-centered teaching in higher ed.,organizational learning, and finding & fixing misconceptions through embedded assessment.
