Family Weekend 2016

Please see below for the most up-to-date schedule of Family Weekend events! Please note that all events are subject to change until the schedule is finalized on Monday, October 10 and that new events may be added at any time!

Ticket Information

Please click here to purchase tickets for Family Weekend. Tickets cost $15 per person (or $8 per youth under 12 years old). You can buy a Family Value pack of tickets for $45 that will cover four family members. Your EMU student is always free. No tickets are necessary for EMU students to attend. After you purchase tickets, a staff member from EMU Family Programs will be in touch within three business days to complete your registration.

Please note that if you are interested in attending the Family Weekend Luncheon on Saturday, October 15, you must purchase a ticket separately. Tickets for the luncheon cost $10.00 per person, with no discount for youth. This event is capped at 180 people and will sell out, so if you are interested, buy your tickets ASAP!

Lodging Information

Many parents and families choose to drive in to the weekend and stay at their family home during the night. If you are traveling and require lodgint, a special EMU rate of $100/night is available Friday-Sunday at the Ann Arbor Regent Hotel. If you will require hotel lodging, please make these reservations quickly! Space may fill.

EMU Dining: Grilled Cheese Friday

Ypsilanti’s historic farmer’s market takes place downtown on Saturday mornings between May and October. Come see what all the fun is about!

Stargazing (Weather permitting)

Sherzer Observatory

Join the astronomy club on the roof of Sherzer to view constellations, planets, and more through two high-powered telescopes! A rain call for this event will be announced at Fall Festival.

Venture off-campus for a meet-up with Family Programs staff. If you finished the Scavenger Hunt, there’s a fun prize in it for you! Bring your completed scavenger hunt materials and come prepared to take a family photo!

*If you’re interested in walking from main campus to the park, meet up with the Family Programs staff at 12:30 at Welch Hall (right across from the water tower on Cross Street).

Symphonic Band Fall Concert

This event is free and open to the public - no tickets required!

Weekend-long Events

EagleCrest Golf Special Rate: $25 for 18 holes and use of a golf cart. Guest must call in advance to schedule tee time.

Rec/IM Special Rate: Discounted day passes are available. Friday passes cost $4/day, Saturday and Sunday passes cost $5/day. Purchasers must be accompanied by an EMU student with valid Eagle ID.
