Special Circumstances

Students and their families may have unusual circumstances that aren't reflected on their FAFSA and that might affect the student’s need for financial aid. These circumstances may include a loss or reduction in income, separation/divorce or requesting a dependency override.

The Office Financial Aid Review Committee meets weekly. Cases are reviewed and decisions are made within 12 business days after receipt. Students are notified by e-mail to their my.emich addresses of the outcome of their appeals
