Types of Aid

Grants

Grant aid is "free money," which means that you don't have to pay it back. Grants are awarded to those students who demonstrate the most financial need and who satisfy all general requirements for federal aid. Only undergraduate students are eligible to receive grant aid, students who have already earned a bachelor's degree or its equivalent are not eligible.

Scholarships

Scholarships are a great way to fund your education. They are usually awarded based on special circumstances, such as grade point average, intended major or economic background. Scholarships are available for both undergraduate and graduate students.

Loans

Eastern participates in federal and private loan programs. Loans are a way to help finance your education. Undergraduate and graduate students as well as parents of dependent students may borrow money. The amount of money is based on class level, enrollment, cost of attendance, dependency status, and other resources. Money that is borrowed through loan programs must be repaid. There are a variety of repayment options available.

To determine loan eligibility, you must file a FAFSA every year.
