Six EMU faculty receive winter research and creative activity fellowships

Six Eastern Michigan University Faculty have been awarded Faculty Research and Creative Activity Fellowships for the winter 2009 term.

Faculty award winners are released from their normal teaching schedule in order to apply themselves to a carefully planned research or creative project. Up to $3,000 also is available to each awardee for specific needs associated with his or her project.

Faculty Research and Creative Activity Fellows, their home departments, and project titles for winter 2009 are:

Ruth Ann Armitage (chemistry), "The Rock Art of Cueva La Conga, Nicaragua: Sample Collection, Chemical Analysis and Radiocarbon Dating."

Xiaoxu Han (mathematics), "Seamless Cancer Molecular Pattern and Biomarker Discovery: Algorithm Design and Software Implementation."
