"The series is in its sixth year and has brought to campus individuals with national and international recognition as leaders in the field of pharmaceutical discovery and development — from academic, industry and the federal regulatory authorities," said Stephen Sonstein, director of EMU's Clinical Research Administration Program. "The series has been open to students, faculty and individuals from the community who have an interest in the area of clinical research and pharmaceutical development."

The Distinguished Speaker Series is sponsored this year by the EMU Chapter of the Drug Information Association (www.diahome.org). The association is an international professional society with a mission to provide a neutral global forum for the exchange of information relating to the drug development process. Eastern Michigan is one of the first two student chapters chartered by the organization.

Confirmation of speakers for the March and April segments of the series were not set at press time. The final two speakers will lecture at St. Joseph's Hospital Education Center Auditorium, the traditional location for this series. The address is 4936 W. Clark Rd., in Superior Township.

This series is free and discussions are open to EMU students, faculty and the community. For more information, call Sonstein at 487-1238 or e-mail him at stephen.sonstein@emich.edu
