ACADEMIC SERVICE-LEARNING RECOGNITION: The Office of Academic Service-Learning and American Humanics hosted an end-of-the-year celebration at The Lake House April 17. The event included a presentation of awards and refreshments. Winners are (above, from left) Anne Seaman, AS-L/AH Special Recognition Award; Dennis Rice, executive director of the Washtenaw Conservation District; Steve LoDuca and the Michigan Groundwater Stewardship Program, Dale Rice Award for Outstanding AS-L Community Partnerships; Dale Rice, who established AS-L at EMU and is now an emeritus faculty; Robert Simmons III, AS-L Research and Scholarship Award; and Melissa Motschall, Dale Rice Award for Academic Innovation in AS-L and Community Engagement.
