The Eastern Michigan University Foundation reported cash
and gifts-in-kind totaling slightly more than $7.9 million for fiscal
year 2008, which is a record amount for the Foundation and a major rebound
from the approximately $4 million earned at the same time during the 2007
fiscal year. The overall goal, set by the EMU Board of Regents, for fiscal
year 2008 was $7.4 million. Some of the major gifts, including a science
equipment initiative funded by the American Electric Power Foundation (pictured
below), are:
Estate of Jean Parsons $2.2 million
Dan McClory track and field gift $1 million
AEP science equipment initiative $500,000
Catherine Sesi estate gift $200,000
Phil Jenkins Scholarship $200,000
