I chose to work at Eastern Michigan University to let students know that
you can still trust someone in law enforcement. My chosen path in life
is law enforcement and I know that now, from working as a police officer
on campus for 17 years. For the last two years, I have been doing administrative
work and working on my Ph.D. in law enforcement.
Being able to interact with people on campus is one of the main reasons
I love this place. I enjoy seeing different people from
different worlds all on the same campus. It's a beautiful
place, mainly because of the friendliness and diversity
of our students. I know every part of this University inside and out.
Anyone on campus could call me and I could tell them where they are, just
by the sounds I hear in the phone.
Being able to pencil in a vacation is great. If I can plan a vacation,
it means everything is going smoothly on campus. My days can get hectic.
I teach sometimes and work with departments around campus to keep peace
within the University.
Recognizing that I am an individual is hard. We are all a part of such
a large place, and it's hard to believe that one individual can make a
difference. I know I can't do everything by myself and it took me a long
time to realize that. We all need to work together to keep this place
alive and beautiful.
